VMI's Northstar Conversion

The Northstar is the flagship of the VMI Mini Van Conversion line. The innovative in-floor ramp shook the industry when first introduced in 1993, providing the first ever side door opening that was actually open. Now in its third generation, people are still talking about the ultimate "out of sight, out of mind" ramp solution.

Totally invisible while stored, the ramp is operated by conveniently located power switches or the optional hand-held keychain remote control. Once the system is activated, the power sliding door glides open, the available kneeling system gently lowers the rear of the van and the ramp silently deploys from its sealed compartment under the floor, with no doorway obstructions of any kind, no visual clues to its function.

The Northstar features a 10" lowered floor-the lowest of any slide-out ramp anywhere, providing you with an unbelievable 58" of interior headroom. The in-floor design also allows for the most usable interior space of any lowered floor mini van. Feel an extra sense of security with manual interior and exterior ramp releases in case of an emergency. The extended 54" ramp and available kneeling suspension ensure a low 9° ramp angle and easy entry.

Another unique feature is our power door system. Not only does it move with the touch of a button or flip of a switch, but can be used manually as well. Plus, VMI is the only company that doesn't rely on after market releases or levers to latch your door. Your safety is our primary concern.
